How to Play Wordle
Wordle is small enough to fit in a coffee break and structured enough to punish a careless second guess.
Short answer: Enter valid five-letter words and use each row’s colour feedback to identify correct letters, correct positions and eliminated possibilities before the six displayed attempts run out.

Press Play in the supplied game and enter a normal five-letter word. An opener with common letters can produce broad information, but it does not need to be identical every day.
Submit only after checking that the row contains five characters.
Translate colours into constraints
A correct-position tile fixes both letter and slot. A present-letter tile keeps the letter but moves it away from that slot. An absent signal usually eliminates the character, except where duplicate letters complicate the result.
Write constraints as positions, not just a bag of letters.
Plan the next row
Respect confirmed positions and test plausible new letters. If many words share the visible pattern, choose a guess that separates their changing characters.
In a strict or hard mode, the loaded game may require you to reuse revealed hints. Check settings before relying on a probe that ignores them.
Understand duplicate letters
Two copies in a guess can receive different feedback because the answer may contain only one. Read each tile relative to the whole row.
Do not discard a letter entirely when one copy is present or correct and the other is not.
Finish or recover
Before the last attempt, list every answer that fits instead of committing to the first. Check spelling and repeated-letter possibilities.
If the interface freezes, open the game directly in a new tab; refreshing may reset the current puzzle.
