Read the board before entering anything

Allow the embedded puzzle to finish loading and find the letter in the middle. Scan the outer characters for vowels, common blends and likely endings.

Do not begin from a word you merely like. Begin from the letters you actually have, then verify that the centre character can sit naturally inside the candidate.

• Write down the required centre letter before searching. It is the fastest way to filter attractive but unusable ideas.
• Work from roots to families: test a sound stem, then examine the available prefixes and endings. Accepted forms depend on the game dictionary.
• Change your visual arrangement when stuck. Reading the petals clockwise, alphabetically and as vowel-consonant groups can expose different patterns.

Build and submit a candidate

Use the visible letter controls or keyboard support offered by the loaded version. Read the composed word before submitting; a single accidental character can look like a dictionary rejection.

After submission, watch for a score change, found-word entry or rejection message. That response tells you whether to extend the stem or abandon it.

Turn short roots into longer words

A short accepted word is a clue to a family. Test whether an available prefix can change its meaning, or whether a suffix can change tense, number or part of speech.

Only submit forms that remain normal words. Mechanical letter combinations waste time if the provider’s dictionary has no reason to recognise them.

Know when a rule belongs to the version
