The required centre letter

The middle character is not decorative. Treat it as the filter through which every idea must pass.

If you brainstorm on paper, put the centre letter beside each stem. This small visual cue prevents the most common invalid submission.

Displayed letters and repeated characters

A candidate must be constructed from the available set. Do not introduce a character merely because it completes a familiar spelling.

Some versions allow a displayed letter to appear more than once in a word. Confirm this through the current rule panel or accepted feedback rather than importing a rule from another site.

Length, dictionaries and proper names

Minimum word length and accepted vocabulary belong to the provider’s implementation. Names, abbreviations, hyphenated forms and very rare inflections are commonly restricted in word games, but the live dictionary makes the decision.

A rejection does not prove a word is unreal; it only means the entry did not satisfy this puzzle’s current checks.

Scores, limits and special words

The version may reward length, special letter use, broad letter coverage or a limited set of submissions. Read the score legend before deciding whether to bank a safe word or keep searching.

Where a pangram or bonus exists, the game should signal it visibly. Do not rely on an assumed reward value.

A fair-play checklist
